Do veneers last forever?

Do veneers last forever?

The short answer is no, veneers don’t last forever but caring for your veneers can significantly improve their longevity. We recommend maintaining your oral health routine and avoiding food that may stain or reduce the bond of your veneers such as really chewy candy.

Are veneers bad for your teeth?

Are veneers bad for your teeth?

Traditional porcelain veneers require some of the existing enamel to be worn away to make room for the new veneers. Fortunately, Dr. Larry Saylor offers a new type of veneers called DURAthin veneers which are extremely thin veneers which do not require a reduction of the enamel.

What is a root canal and why would I need one?

What is a root canal and why would I need one?

A root canal is a procedure that is often performed urgently to salvage a tooth that has been significantly affected by decay. Your dentist will give you the appropriate amount of sedation so you’re comfortable throughout the procedure. To begin a hole will be drilled into the center of your tooth so that the damaged pulp and nerves can be removed. This area will then be filled and a filling or crown will be placed to restore the tooth’s structure.

Which teeth whitening gel is best?

Teeth whitening is an extremely effective way to improve the way your teeth look rapidly. We are proud to offer two of the best whitening systems available including KoR Whitening and ZOOM! Tooth Whitening. These professional systems are the most effective way to whiten your teeth and we always remind our patients that store-bought whitening gel will never be as effective as whitening performed by your dentist.

How can I improve my smile?

How can I improve my smile?

There are many cosmetic dental procedures available so you can improve the look of your smile. Veneers and teeth whitening are the two most popular procedures which help diminish discolouration, and veneers also conceal crookedness and other imperfections. We offer KoR Whitening and ZOOM! Tooth Whitening to our patients so they can achieve a beautiful, glowing smile in one short appointment.

Will my teeth look fake if I get veneers or crowns?

The ultimate appearance of your veneers or crowns depends on the materials used and the skill of your cosmetic dentist…

At Dr. Saylor’s cosmetic dentistry office in Brandon, we exclusively use porcelain and ceramic materials for all of our tooth reconstruction and cosmetic procedures. Porcelain is non-porous, which means our veneers are extremely durable and stain resistant.

Each dental restoration is custom crafted and expertly bonded to your tooth to create a beautifully natural smile, rather than a perfect or perfectly fake-smile. We make sure you approve your new smile beforehand by taking time to get your temporaries (prototypes) right before going forward with the final stage of your treatment. We take care in using the most natural looking dental materials available, such as Empress, Cercon and Feldspathic porcelains. These materials have a depth of color and are translucent, so they look just like natural teeth.

Which type of dental restoration is best for me?

Every patient is different, and therefore there is no set treatment for everyone…

Dr. Saylor will conduct a thorough examination of your mouth to determine what issues you have and how best they can be treated. After your consultation with Dr. Saylor, he will discuss with you which option may work best based on your unique dental situation.

What is the difference between Lumineers and porcelain veneers?

Lumineers provide an immediate solution to concealing cosmetic flaws in a smile, while veneers are slightly more complex…

Lumineers made their impact on the dental community several years ago as one of the first “prepless” veneers. Lumineers are a thin, porcelain based overlay that requires no shaving or grinding of existing tooth enamel prior to application, unlike traditional veneers. They are promoted as a permanently white smile that is pain-free, and as a solution for all types of existing dental problems – misaligned teeth, tooth discoloration, chipped teeth, etc.

Veneers feature several benefits that make them a better choice than Lumineers…

They are extremely thin – ranging from .2 to .4mm on average, which drastically reduces irritation within the mouth once they have been applied. Veneers also achieve a more natural look because the porcelain color is built up layer-on-layer, instead of a one-time cosmetic pressing, as is done with Lumineers.  This allows the well-trained cosmetic dentist to block out areas of discoloration, while allowing the natural color and translucency of the patient’s tooth to show through, resulting in a color that always looks great, and never looks fake.

While both Lumineers and Veneers offer a pain-free solution to patients who seek to improve their smile, porcelain veneers are thinner, stronger and create a beautifully natural smile that will leave your friends and family wondering what you’ve done to look so great.

How can dental implants enhance my smile?
